|
This is a modification I did to my old cell phone |
|
|
|
I bought a used Sprint Touchpoint phone from eBay |

After only a few days of use I ripped it apart. |

I vinyl dyed the green case to a shiny black. |

|

I changed the backlight to red. |

I installed an LED into the antenna. |
![]() |
I then replaced the external antenna jack with a push button switch. |
![]() |
The antenna connection was restored using some PCB repair tape. |

The button installed |

The +volt trace had to be carefully routed to the battery. |
![]() |
I measured 3.7volts on one of the battery contacts. |
![]() |
The trace then makes contact with this trace. |
![]() |
The LED is practically hidden. |
![]() |
Until you press the button. |
![]() |
The LED is very bright and make a great key-hole light. |

The plan was to change the keypad LEDs to red also, but the phone was replaced before then. |
