Antec Lighted Bezel Mod

-with Inverted Knight Rider Effect

I decided to light my case differently than a Cold Cathode.

I had just bought a bunch of Super Bright LED's

The knight rider effect is very popular but I decided to invert the effect, and make the lights blink off instead of on.

I modified a circuit for an LED chaser. I made it so that when the chaser circuit is supposed to turn an LED on, it instead turns one of the LED's off. (Using a 3906 Transistor)  Also the transistor allows the LED to run at full brightness.  I then wired 470mF capacitors in parallel with the LED's. This causes a fading effect on the LED's

The speed of the effect is controlled by a potentiometer in the front of the case (Below the reset button)

Here is the schematic.

A close-up of the circuit:

Circuit installed in the bezel.

I didn't have enough room on the breadboard for the Capacitors, so I wired them near the LED's

The LED's and wires a attached to the bezel using hotglue.

The positive 5 volts was wired to my existing IDE LED mod.

The ground was wired to the case, by wrapping it around a plastic pin touching the metal case.
