This is the first part of my modifications to light the drives in my system. A simple, single super bright LED inside my USB compact flash reader. I internalized this read a while ago, so I need to be lit. |

First the guts, very simple inside. |

The LED was wired to +5 volts (Traced from the USB port) and ground. (There is a 100ohm resistor under the heatshrink tubing) |

The LED is placed at an angle shining down on the PCB |

The light is reflected off the PCB matching the effect of the lights in my bezel. |

Since my card reader can also read Type II cards and Microdrives the light still shows when a card is installed. |
